Getting here
An essential stop for the powder hound touring the Tohoku area, Ani is in between Hakkoda and Tazawako and can be easily incorporated in a northern Tohoku circuit. Anaba Lodge is the closest accommodation to Ani Ski Resort and the best base for exploring the Mt. Moriyoshi area.

By Train + Taxi
It's easy to get to the Anaba loge by train + taxi. Despite its remote location. we're located only 20 minutes up the road from from Aniai Station, which is serviced by a quaint little one car diesel train. From there, you can get to the Anaba Lodge by reserving a "share taxi service" which will drive you to the Anaba Lodge for ¥2,000 per person. Taxi service is available until 6pm so be sure to arrive at Aniai Station before then to lock in your ride!

If you're arriving after the taxi service ends, our staff can pick you up for the equivalent price if we have staff available.

Despite its remote location, the Anaba Lodge is located just 45 minutes from the nearest airport. With 2-3 direct flights a day from Tokyo's Haneda Airport (HND), if you're looking for a good place to start your Tohoku powder circuit, starting from the Ani works great!
The closest airport is Odate-Noshiro Airport (ONJ) which is serviced by ANA, one of Japan's legacy carriers (re: two free checked bags and proper service). For foreign visitors, ANA offers discount fares via its Discover Japan Fare. Book through this website here and lock in the flight for as low as ¥10,000 (about US$85) if you reserve 2-3 months in advance, otherwise it will be around ¥16,000 (about US$120) to book last minute.
